Fancy being paid to cycle for a day?

Box Bike Delivery began working on behalf of Riverford Home Delivery during the Easter break.

There are however several Thursdays when we need an extra rider to help out, and I wondered if you know of anybody, including perhaps yourself, who might be in a position to offer a few hours from 10-ish the Thursdays listed below. If things take off in the way I envisage it could lead to a little more work later in the year. We're after a confident and level-headed rider who wouldn't be too phased at riding our Bakfiets Cargo Long bikes, and as indicated, the bikes can be handled just as well by female riders, though perhaps not fully loaded. I've attached a few pics for you to see. We will pay 7 per hour.

The dates we need somebody are:

May 8th

May 15th

May 22nd

June 19th

July 3rd

A test ride can be arranged too.

Please contact via the contact page in the first instance and we will pass on your details.

Blazing Saddles - March 2014

Now March is over and out of the way and we patiently await the Blazing Saddles results for April, here's a quick overview of how the competition has been progressing throughout March.

Alan Baxter is still leading the gents competition with 67 points and has just passed the 50 rides mark reaching 51 just before the end of the month. Jim Brown sits very close behind on 62 points in second place. Both have an incredible lead over the rest of the group with third place Robert Finney behind on 33 points, giving Alan and Jim an almost 30 point lead.

In the ladies, Jackie Cooper is still leading with 34 points putting her in fourth place in the overall competition as well as leading the ladies. The second place spot is currently held by Lynn Bonnici on 28 points with third and fourth being taken by Elaine Walker and Alison Mills on 26 and 24 points respectively.

Lauren Higham is leading the juniors with 16 points with younger brother Kieran still holding second place on 13 points. Third place is currently held by Zoe Nuttall on 9 points but Chloe Markham is very close behind on 7.

Watch the Women - Meet 10am on Saturday

This special Saturday ride on 10 May will leave Costello's at 10:10am NO LATER.

We will watch the Queen of the Mountain points battle at Port Hill, Bengeo. Bring a snack I don't know what food/drink might be available.

Then we will ride to Welwyn Garden City to the finish area. There are events running there all afternoon. I imagine that plenty of options for food and drink will be available. I will set a meeting point and time and all will be free to wander.

This ride will be paced to suit all riders.

Distances: approximately 11 miles to the QOM where we will break (no refreshments so bring your own).

About 10 miles to the finish area. Catering will be available in the town centre as well as possibly at the events area too.

Finally approximately 11 miles to return to Stevenage.

However these mileages depend upon not hitting any road closures!!!
