Blazing Saddles - April 2014

April has come and gone and with another month down in the Blazing Saddles competition it's time to have a look and see how our riders are doing as we approach the start of May.

Alan Baxter is still leading the gents competition with 88 points and is well on his way to reaching 100 before the end of May! Jim Brown sits in second on 78 and then there's a huge gap of 37 points before joint third place Robert Finney and Richard Palmer on 41 points.

In the ladies, Jackie Cooper is still leading with 41 points, now putting her tied in third place in the overall competition as well as being the top spot in the ladies category. Second place is currently held by Elaine Walker on 38 points but only just with Lynn Bonnici 1 point behind on 37.

Lauren Higham is leading the juniors with 19 points with younger brother Kieran holding back Lauren's lead on 16 points. Zoe Nuttall and Chloe Markham are both tied in third place with 11 points.

Fancy being paid to cycle for a day?

Box Bike Delivery began working on behalf of Riverford Home Delivery during the Easter break.

There are however several Thursdays when we need an extra rider to help out, and I wondered if you know of anybody, including perhaps yourself, who might be in a position to offer a few hours from 10-ish the Thursdays listed below. If things take off in the way I envisage it could lead to a little more work later in the year. We're after a confident and level-headed rider who wouldn't be too phased at riding our Bakfiets Cargo Long bikes, and as indicated, the bikes can be handled just as well by female riders, though perhaps not fully loaded. I've attached a few pics for you to see. We will pay 7 per hour.

The dates we need somebody are:

May 8th

May 15th

May 22nd

June 19th

July 3rd

A test ride can be arranged too.

Please contact via the contact page in the first instance and we will pass on your details.
