Revolution CC - Autumn Cycling Coaching

Revolution Cycling Club based in Walkern are organising a series of cycling coaching sessions this Autumn at the Marriots Sports Centre off Telford Avenue in Stevenage.

There's a variety of sessions for all ages and groups including bike handling skills, racing techniques, fun racing and organised racing for those interested.

Fees apply to some of the sessions depending on age and must be booked. Check out the poster linked below for more information and how to book a place.

Lovelo Nevis Sportive - 12th Oct

On the 12th October (this weekend!) Lovelo Cycle Works are hosting a sportive cycle event through the beautiful Chiltern Hills, climbing a total height of 4040ft - the equivalent of Ben Nevis! It's hilly but at a mere 55 miles, your legs will have the strength to simply power up those hills.

The event costs 20 if you sign up before the day, rising up to 25 for on the day registration and 20% of all entry fees are being donated to chosen charities. Spaces are limited so release those brakes and book now!

Blazing Saddles - September 2014

Another month of great cycling has come and gone and the weather is still on our side providing us with lovely conditions to keep cycling. Here is a quick run down of the Blazing Saddles competition at the end of September.

Alan Baxter is leading in the gents competition and is the first rider this year to break the 200 milestone and has 206 points so far! Jim Brown sits in second on 184 and in third is Robert Finney who currently sits just below the century mark on 99 points.

In the ladies, Lynn Bonnici is holding onto first place with 92 points while Jackie Cooper is in second on 88. Jill Borchers has overtaken Elaine to sit in third place on 69 while Elaine has dropped back to fourth with 65 points.

Lauren Higham is still holding onto first place in the juniors competition with 35 points with younger brother Kieran sitting in second on 28. Zoe Nuttall and Robert Dixon are not far behind though with 25 and 23 points respectively.

Bicycle documentary at The Rex

The Rex at Berkhamstead are showing "Bicycle (PG)" on the 19th of October 2014.

The film is a documentary filmed after the Tour of Britain passed through Berkhamsted looking at why cycling and the bicycle itself is back in fashion and how it all started. The documentary includes interviews from Sir Dave Brailsford, Gary Fisher, Chris Boardman, Ned Boulting, Sir Chris Hoy, Tracy Moseley, Mike Burrows and many more.
