Blazing Saddles - September 2014

Another month of great cycling has come and gone and the weather is still on our side providing us with lovely conditions to keep cycling. Here is a quick run down of the Blazing Saddles competition at the end of September.

Alan Baxter is leading in the gents competition and is the first rider this year to break the 200 milestone and has 206 points so far! Jim Brown sits in second on 184 and in third is Robert Finney who currently sits just below the century mark on 99 points.

In the ladies, Lynn Bonnici is holding onto first place with 92 points while Jackie Cooper is in second on 88. Jill Borchers has overtaken Elaine to sit in third place on 69 while Elaine has dropped back to fourth with 65 points.

Lauren Higham is still holding onto first place in the juniors competition with 35 points with younger brother Kieran sitting in second on 28. Zoe Nuttall and Robert Dixon are not far behind though with 25 and 23 points respectively.

Bicycle documentary at The Rex

The Rex at Berkhamstead are showing "Bicycle (PG)" on the 19th of October 2014.

The film is a documentary filmed after the Tour of Britain passed through Berkhamsted looking at why cycling and the bicycle itself is back in fashion and how it all started. The documentary includes interviews from Sir Dave Brailsford, Gary Fisher, Chris Boardman, Ned Boulting, Sir Chris Hoy, Tracy Moseley, Mike Burrows and many more.

The Armstrong Lie - Hitchin Films

Hitchin Films are showing the Lance Armstrong documentary "The Armstrong Lie" on the 23rd September (next week) at the Market Theatre in Hitchin.

Tickets are �5 and can be bought on the door or in advance via the website. The doors and bar will open at 7:30pm and the film will start at 8:00pm.
