Welcome to the Off-Road Challenge event page.
This event was first held in 2006.
OOur Off-Road Challenge ride is an off-road ride through the bridleways and country lanes around Hertfordshire covering a tasty 50 or 65 kilometers.

The 2020 event is informal, and during the 3 week window will operate like an Audax Permanent, without formal Brevet Cards or manned controls. Mobile phone photos should be used, to show start and finish times and reaching an information control or turning point. No information will be available at the start, so please print the information you will need in advance. |
Entries
Please enter in advance by text/telephone or e-mail to Paul Boielle on 07764 294173, [email protected], specifying the date on which you plan to ride and the start time, as places each day will be limited to six. If you need copies of the route, or maps, and you tell Paul in advance, he will post them to you. You can ride the route more than once, provided places on you chosen dates are available. Place availability each day will be on a “first come, first served” basis.
We will be using last years route sheets and maps, as there are no planned changes.
There is an entry form, below, which you can fill in and use to record your entry. The details of who to send it to by e-mail and what to include is all on the form for you.

Although Brevet Cards will not be provided this year, you can, optionally, download a 2020 brevet card below, which will help you to keep track of your progress and provide details of what information you should record.

You can download and print the route information below. The routes for 2020 are the same as those created and tested in 2019. Suggested printer settings for the route sheets: A4, Landscape, Duplex, Short-side left (for printers with duplex capability).

Set out below are detailed maps with the route overlaid. Suitable for riders not wishing to use (or who don't have) paper Ordnance Survey maps. The maps are intended to be used together with the Route Sheet. The OS Cycling map includes km markers and small green flags that correspond to cues in the Route Sheet.
