Due to over running road works, between Henham and Furneaux Pelham, that are likely to run until mid-April, a decision has been made to divert the routes of the 115km and 210km routes this year.

Please ensure you follow the modified route sheets that have been made available on the Start of Summertime Specials page.

Blazing Saddles - February 2013 Update

The blazing saddles results for February 2013 have just been published on the site with some interesting scores for some of our riders showing just how close the competition is at this point in the year.

Alan Baxter currently holds a 3 point lead over second place Jim Brown with Robert Finney close on their tails with 22.

There is a dead tie with the ladies where both Lynn Bonnici and Elaine Walker on 20 points and Jackie Cooper not far behind them on 16.

Lauren Higham is still holding onto first place in the juniors with 8, a 4 point lead over both Sean Browne and Kieran Higham who are on 4.

Tandem Captain Wanted

We have had a request for help:

"I would really appreciate any help you might be able to give in finding a volunteer Captain. I am blind with no useful vision - but I am very capable and my balance has been described as exceptional - i.e. I wont and dont wobble about on the back 😊"

He has a tandem and is raring to go - is there anyone out there who would like to give it a try?

Stevenage & NH CTC at ERITO conference

Today, the Stevenage and North Herts CTC visited the Eastern Region Instructor Training Organisation (Cycle Training) Annual Conference, being held at Longmeadow Primary School, Stevenage.

Our volunteers staffed a stand for two hours during which time the cycle trainers in attendance could speak to members of our group about what we do and to raise awareness of us.

Many thanks to all who helped to 'man' the stand. Sorry I wans't able to pop in much, Tina.

Got a couple of hours to spare on Friday next week (22nd Feb)?

Tina is looking for help to 'people' a CTC stand at the ERITO conference (East of England Cycle Training Organisation). It will be at Longmeadow School, Oaks Cross, Stevenage. You would be needed from 11:30 till 1:30 to talk to cycle trainers from the whole of the East of England about how good CTC is:-) and help pack away the stand at the end. It will be a captive audience with well over 100 already booked.

Help to set up on the 21st will also be appreciated. Contact webmaster through the contact page.
